Artist Statement

“Celebrating Benevolence”

At the center of the feminine spirit, there is a sense of ease. The breeze is warm. The heart is light. The book is rich. Embracing peace and cultivating serenity is spiritually positive and strong.

In my paintings and collages, I create images of women in pleasant environments. These women are surrounded by objects, patterns and living things particular to their world. My work describes and celebrates the power of benevolence. I try to encourage reflection and peace through images of relaxation, comfort and beauty.

I have been working on acrylic paintings for many years. A few years ago, I also began painting decorative, simple designs on furniture. I do this now on commission and am developing a workshop for women to learn how to produce their own pieces. (Send me an email if you would like to hear more about this.) I also recently took up creating collages with photos, paintings and magazine pictures. (Please view through collage gallery.) I am willing to design and produce collages for you with pictures of your own choice. I also create good quality reproductions of my paintings and collages. They are available as prints laminated on wood, which make for a durable and easily maintained item for yourself or as a gift.
